Teachers’ digital competencies in higher education: a systematic literature review

Abstract Digital competence has gained a strong prominence in the educational context, being one of key competencies that teachers must master today's society. Although most models and frameworks focus on pre-university level, there is growing interest knowing state digital university teachers, is, set knowledge, skills attitudes necessary for teacher to make effective use technologies. The aim this research present systematic review literature Web Science Scopus, identify, analyze classify published articles between 2000 2021 competences, thus find improve done future avenues context. SciMAT software used analysis. initial search reveals more than 343 English, which 152 are duplicates 135 not related topic study. After filtering, 56 obtained analyzed depth. results reveal predominance focuses analyzing teachers' self-assessment reflection their competencies. Teachers recognize they have low or medium–low competence, as well absence certain competencies, especially those evaluation practice. Despite multiple studies address issue, it continue improving area, deepening assessment design, basis, practical personalized training programs respond needs era.
